Writing has been a longtime passion for Crystal. A self-proclaimed “word nerd,” this native Washingtonian garnered national recognition for her original poetry and awed Congressional members with politically-charged speeches in advanced oratorical competitions.
In high school, she served as a newspaper staff writer and lead morning anchor for the student body’s daily news program; but these accomplishments could be expected from someone whose first substantial present was, in fact, a typewriter.
At the age of 20, Crystal received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and juggled the roles of newspaper and yearbook staff writer/photographer, campus news reporter, and disc jockey effortlessly.
Coupled with a tireless approach to job hunting, this journalistic excellence quickly landed her the position of field producer at a key satellite news-gathering cooperative. From there, Crystal gained invaluable experience in marketing and radio.
She was worked as an entertainment journalist since then, having composed numerous articles, biographies, and reviews for a host of print and online publications including MusicAveMagazine.com. After three years as its Editor-in-Chief, Crystal transitioned to an internationally-distributed lifestyle periodical. Currently, she is a freelance writer, copy editor, and part-time model. In her spare time, Crystal enjoys traveling, animal rescue, complaining about summertime humidity on the East Coast, eating cheese, educating others about her conspiracy theories, and salsa dancing.
